Diablo IV is set to release on the 6th of June 2023 with early access starting on March 17th. So if you’re planning on playing the game as it launches you’ll be keen to run it well. As such we look at the best GPU for Diablo 4, the latest in Blizzard’s franchise.
The game is set to follow the plot of Diablo 3 Reaper of Souls. Now the antagonist of the game, Lilith daughter of Mephisto, is summoned by cultists. And with the forces of angels and demons depleted, she can find her sanctuary.
This series has been a popular one. It started in 1997 and has seen many releases in that time, either popular ones or not. But as a main series release, it should have a good chance.

As the release date approaches the system requirements have been updated for the game. And they are much lower than even expected, so it is a much more achievable title. A portable machine like the Steam Deck could even be powerful enough, CPU and RAM specs included.
For 720p, 30 FPS low graphics at a minimum the game asks for a GTX 660 or R9 280. 2GB with DirectX 12 support, which is upped to 4GB to achieve 1080p 60FPS at medium. With the recommended cards the GTX 970 or RX 470.

CHECK PRICEWith the low entry requirements of a GTX 970 or RX 470, most modern cards will easily reach that level of performance. As such even the Nvidia GeForce RTX 3050 and AMD Radeon RX 6600 are good choices of graphics cards. With a low entry point, they offer great value for their performance.
They are focused on 1080p gaming and so might be a bit low-powered for anything more. Although that may be what you need and are a good entry point into the architecture and what it has to offer.
As such it may be good to get something more powerful. The RTX 3070 Ti and RX 6700 XT are also great choices to get some good performance out of the game. Being able to push higher resolutions and qualities does mean you have a bit more flexibility to enjoy. As well as being able to enjoy some more titles at a good fidelity. Especially for anything like 4K and high framerates.

Does Diablo 4 support DLSS or Nvidia Reflex?
It’s good news for Nvidia GPU users, as Diablo 4 is making full use of their range of performance enhancing tools which come with their range of graphics cards. The 40-series in particular, including the flagship 4090, use DLSS 3 technology to improve performance and boost framerates.
Luckily, Nvidia announced that Diablo 4 will be supporting Nvidia DLSS 3 & Nvidia Reflex (to minimize input lag). This is probably the reason why some 4000 series cards were seeing bundle offers to get the new Blizzard title along with a purchase.
