As the sequel to the 2018 game, The Forest, the 2023 game aims to expand on the genre. But as such we look at the best GPU for Sons of the Forest so can enjoy it the best.

Following the sole survivor of a jet crash in the first game. This new game changes it up by the protagonist being sent to a remote island to find a missing billionaire.

It also features the well-known cannibals on the island. So you have to survive in the open-world survival horror story, either alone or with friends.

The system requirements have increased over the previous release. Sons of the Forest likely comes from higher fidelity used and newer versions of Direct X.

Which does require your GPU to support DX 11 as well as have at least 3GB of VRAM. With the recommended upping to 8GB or more in the suggested cards.

These are at a minimum of a GTX 1060 or RX 570. The higher option of the GTX 1080 Ti or RX 5700 XT is the more performative option.

All of these are powerful cards and show the likely graphical demand of the game. So with that, you may consider getting some hardware to match as these are relatively harder to find.

As such on the same performance level you’re looking at getting an RX 6600 XT or RTX 3060 Ti. These will both match the levels of the GTX 1080 Ti and offer plenty of power to run the game.

But it may be wiser to aim for something more powerful especially when it comes to running the game at higher resolutions and settings. As these will be much more demanding.

Therefore, an RTX 3090 Ti or RX 6950 XT are more capable cards on the highest level of the older generation. Which will hold nothing back when running games at higher resolutions and fidelities.

Now for something on the newer generation. Getting the RTX 4090 or RX 7900 XTX will definitely set you back a bit. But they have the power behind them to match, with them likely lasting for years to come.
