Instead, going for a card further up the range is something we highly recommend, if you can afford it. This is easier said than done but you will get something substantially better that will last a lot longer too. The RTX 4070 is more expensive, however, if you plan on playing in 1440p in the future, you won’t have to compromise, this option will serve you well for years to come. Alternatively, the RTX 3060 Ti from the previous generation might be a good graphics card to turn tp if prices continue to fall.

When looking to just get access to the GPU at the lowest cost the PNY RTX 4060 Verto Dual is the option to go for. Although available at MSRP at launch it is likely to drop down the line. It also has a lower production quality with a simple and limited design on the card. This does mean you do just get the one heatpipe throughout the heatsink that still should be sufficient for the 115W graphics power.

What this does mean is that the card is not overclocked and has the standard clocks for the graphics card. It also means you’re unlikely to be able to push it much more yourself since the cooling is unlikely to handle it without throttling. But it still has the performance of the 4060 for 1080p gaming with the features available to the architecture so you’re not missing out on much and you can spend more on other components of your build.
