SNK launches 2nd King of Fighters Open Beta Test

Following the first KOF 15 Open Beta Test in November, SNK are already rolling out another in December, 2021 exclusively for PlayStation users.
As we get closer to the February 17th, 2022, release date of King of Fighters 15, SNK are taking steps to ensure that the game is the very best it can be. As such, they are rolling out a second Open Beta Test in December. While KOV 15 will be released on PlayStation 4 and PlayStation 5, Xbox One and Xbox Series S|X and PC, the OBT is only open to players on PS4 and PS5.
How to Play King of Fighters XV Open Beta Test
If you have already played the first KOV 15 Open Beta
You will still need to install the latest patch for King of Fighters XV if you have the game loaded from the initial Open Beta. If the game is still loaded on your PlayStation, you should be able to update as normal.
- Locate King of Fighters 15 in your library
- Click Options
- Select Check for Update
- Follow the instructions to download patch
If you haven’t already participated in a KOV Beta
If you don’t currently have KOV 15 loaded on your PS4 or PS5, you will need to download the Demo from the Playstation Store. You will need to ensure that you are selecting the correct option, as you may see the Standard Edition pre order in the shop as well. Make sure you are selecting the “King of Fighters XV DEMO (Open Beta)”, which will not require any payment to download.
Do you need a PlayStation Plus subscription to participate?
You will not need PlayStation Plus or an online connection to participate in the OBT. However, without them, you will only be able to test out the offline features, which are Versus mode, and the Training mode and Tutorials. Online players will also be able to test out Casual Matches and Room Matches.
When does the KOF 15 2nd Open Beta start?
The King of Fighters XV 2nd Open Beta Test will start on December 17th, and will run until December 20th, 2021, so will be available for a long weekend of KOF 15 gameplay. Find out region specific launch times below.
