There’s no specific Acer Nitro 17 release date yet, but we’ve got a good idea of the window of time it will be coming out since the gaming laptop’s reveal at CES 2023, along with information on its specs and starting price.
This year the Acer Nitro 5 is no more (at least as far as new laptops go, you can of course still buy previous-gen models with this name). Acer are streamlining their naming system to just include the ‘Acer Nitro’ part, and then a number signifying the screen size (17 for 17 inches, in this case). So, whilst you could previously purchase 17-inch Acer Nitro 5 gaming laptops, this is technically the first Acer Nitro 17.
Interestingly the Acer Nitro 17 retains the classic 16:9 aspect ratio for its display, rather than the more in-vogue 16:10 that you get on the Acer Nitro 16. On the one hand this is a good move by Acer, as it gives consumers more options depending on their preference, though it may disappointed those who wanted a bit more diagonal screen size and the taller display.

The Acer Nitro 17 release date for those with Intel CPUs is May 2023 for North America and the EMEA (Europe, Middle East, Africa). Unlike the Acer Nitro 16, no Chinese release date was mentioned.

The Acer Nitro 17 starting price will be $1,199.99 / €1,599. This will be for the base specifications. More powerful loadouts will cost more.

The new Acer Nitro laptops in 2024 all come with Advanced Optimus (i.e. a MUX Switch where you don’t need to reboot the laptop for it to work), as well as liquid metal cooling.
Note that the AMD equipped units will apparently come with higher memory speeds than the Intel ones. Whilst 13th gen mobile processors can theoretically support up to DDR5-5200 RAM, it would appear that Acer are equipping them with the lower speed stock, for whatever reason. According to Jarrod’s Tech, this likely means that the AMD processors will be the HS series, instead of the HX series of Ryzen 7000 laptops.
