The best-selling games list is something gamers keep their eyes on all throughout the year, a new one coming about each year. The list displays all the games that sold tons of copies within that calendar year, ranking them in the top 20. It seems that Activision has officially gotten two of its own games into the top 5.

As many can imagine, the list features titles like Pokemon: Scarlet and Violet, Street Fighter 6, Hogwarts Legacy, and many more big games that everyone remembers from the past few months. Developers are lucky to sometimes have more than one of their games on the list, and Activision has stored not one but two titles in the top 5 ranking of the best-selling games in 2024.

CoD makes it to top 5 best selling games in 2024

CharlieIntel took to Twitter and shared an image of the rankings so far this year for the best-selling games in 2024, announcing that not only Call of Duty: Modern Warfare II was on the list, but also Diablo 5, which is another Activision Blizzard title.

The list shows that the number one slot goes to Hogwarts Legacy, the next being The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom, then the all-new Diablo 5 title, and then Call of Duty at number 4, with Star Wars Jedi: Survivor being ranked in the fifth slot.

When reading the comments on the post sharing this news, it is quite mixed upon the different fanbases and what they believe to be a good game and not a good game. While some express Hogwarts Legacy should be at the Game Awards later this year, others are claiming nothing gets fixed in Activision titles because everyone is still buying them.

Other CoD fans have gone on to express that they feel accomplished and joyed by seeing MWII on the list sitting at number 4 after many haters said the game was dying. Diablo 4 sitting at number 3 is not a shock as it had an amazing launch week and is still going strong with its first Battle Pass and season. Activision seems to be doing more right than players acknowledge.
