A couple weeks ago it was made known that Call of Duty: Black Ops Cold War wasn’t safe to play as hackers were getting personal information of players, including things like their IP addresses. This then caused for gamers to stop playing the game altogether for fear of personal information being taken or even leaked.

Activision made a statement a while back letting players know that they knew about the issue and were working to resolve it quickly. Now, we’ve received a new update today about an update that has finally been launched that will help with this security issue.

Black Ops Cold War receives update to protect its players

The official Call of Duty Updates Twitter page keeps everyone up to date on all things to do with CoD and its patches, and today they released a post letting players know that Black Ops Cold War has been updated and made safe for players once again.

The security update post was in a reply to the first statement when they acknowledged the issue. Players are very thankful with this news as they haven’t been playing the game since these exploit security concerns began. One player shows their gratitude by saying: “thanks for finally talking about this after weeks of not being able to play the best COD post covid.”

Another user still shows some shaky concerns with playing Black Ops Cold War after these issues and asks for confirmation from the Call of Duty Updates twitter account by making the following statement: “Does this mean it’s safe to play Cold War multiplayer again I would please like an answer to this question @CODUpdates I miss playing black ops Cold War as it’s the most recent treyarch game.”

The game should be safe for players to jump back into since it is now made obvious that they are releasing updates to fix it and are looking to release some more soon. The first update probably immediately fixed the issue of hackers and now they are most likely looking to better their content some more past that.
