Call of Duty games has always been available on select consoles like Xbox, PlayStation, and PC for as long as the game has been out, with very few titles on the Nintendo DS before never being on a Nintendo console again. However, some fans have wanted the games to come to other consoles like the Nintendo Switch, but it seems that might never happen.

Recently, a documented statement was released that revealed how the Call of Duty developer doesn’t feel that they would make much money off the games being on their console. This could be a true statement, but at the same time, Switch games make millions.

Fans discuss if the Switch is for FPS players

The documentation was shared by CharlieIntel’s Twitter account. It has opened up a lot of discussion among fans after reading what it said.

The court filing states “Activision has finite development resources and has chosen to deploy those resources in opportunities that Activision believes present greater potential financial returns.” It looks like Activision has budgeted certain amounts of money to certain projects, and at this point, developing for Nintendo is not worth the expenditure.

This has opened up a discussion with the players that are quite interesting, with one user saying, “Obviously, smart business decision. I don’t think those who buy switches are looking to play Call of Duty or FPS are they?” This is something that is smart to think about, considering a lot of gamers that purchase a Nintendo Switch are looking to play more cozy games like Pokemon and Animal Crossing or the most obvious choice, Mario.

Some other users also state how the reason a lot of the mainline games for CoD never came to the DS or Wii, and now the Nintendo Switch consoles is because they don’t have the hardware to be able to run games like MW2 the way they are meant to run.

This has opened up quite a debate because not only are some players claiming that the choice is smart, but others are expressing how Activision will never know how successful Call of Duty would be on the Nintendo Switch without trying, says this user.

It definitely looks certain that Call of Duty games won’t be launching on the Nintendo Switch anytime soon, if ever.
