You can now pre order Call of Duty Modern Warfare 2
Call of Duty Modern Warfare 2 is set to release in late October and Activision will have high hopes for this next step in the franchise, with previous titles failing to live up to the hype. More and more leaks are starting to appear, some of which hint we will be getting some single-player and multiplayer gameplay in the not-so-distant future. Other leaks breaking suggest MW2 will be available to pre order in three different editions.
Modern Warfare 2 pre order
Call of Duty 2022’s latest edition is now only months away. This means that the next step is some gameplay footage and then pre orders are likely to open. When is unknown, however, with possible alpha and beta testing stages to come, the franchise may use this to drive pre order sales as we have seen before.
The leaked pre order options are as follows:
- Standard Edition
- Cross Gen Bundle
- Vault Edition
CharlieIntel reported this news, which they claimed came via leaked Vanguard files.
Looking at previous titles, the standard edition could retail somewhere around $50-$60, while the Vault edition, if the more premium option, could be closer to $100.
Call of Duty Modern Warfare 2 pre order bonus on the cards?
We see it with many game launches, particularly Call of Duty, where you may receive certain privileges like beta access when you pre order the game. We expect a lot of the same this time around, along with cosmetic incentives, such as weapon skins, character unlocks, and plenty more.
If the proposed pre order options above are accurate then we could see similar pre order bonuses as we have with previous games. Those who pre order any bundle could get early access to Modern Warfare 2, which would essentially be an alpha, a beta, or both. For those that buy the more premium bundle, you could also receive early access to MW2, while also receiving limited-edition cosmetics for both MW2 and possibly Warzone 2.
Call of Duty Modern Warfare Beta to hit the PlayStation first.
While all platforms may be able to enjoy early access to Call of Duty Modern Warfare 2, the leaked beta it is apparently going to be hitting PlayStation first. Whether MW2 will be available for both the PS4 and PS5 at the same time is unknown, however, we saw a similar staggered roll-out beta access with Vanguard.
This seems a bit peculiar considering Activision was bought by Microsoft, leading many to believe Xbox or PC platforms could get the preferential treatment.
