Shroud is one of the best FPS players to ever grace the esports world, often called the very best in many circles, but he has no love for Call of Duty. In fact, while being asked about his opinion of the game, he said it was worse than Halo for mouse and keyboard players and that it’s really just a point-and-click type of game.

If you’re a fan of Call of Duty this will be hard to hear, but maybe his mind will change when Modern Warfare 3 comes out. Until then, below we’ll go into detail about Shroud’s argument against Activision’s prized franchise.

Call of Duty on Mouse and keyboard

Saying Halo is better than Call of Duty is pretty brutal from Shroud because he once said that Halo wasn’t a real FPS. Shroud started things off pretty harshly when a commenter asked him what he thought of Call of Duty Warzone, “CoD just needs a little more depth for me to really enjoy it… By that, I mean depth when shooting a gun. That game is a f***ing monstrosity, like a plague, for mouse and keyboard. It is by definition a terrible shooting game for mouse and keyboard.”

Shroud went on to say that it’s mostly a bunch of clutter in the game that keeps it from doing well. There is a big debate about how much aim assist helps controller players, but controllers aren’t as accurate as mice, so it’s there. Because mouse and keyboard players don’t get aim assist, their accuracy matters a lot more than those playing with controllers.

This is why Shroud does not want to play Call of Duty, too much distraction on screen just to make the game seem more intense.

My friends at GamerUpdate show the entire video, which you can find below. We agree with Jake on this one, we do like the debate and if anyone can find a good middle ground that works for both sides, they’d be rich.
