It’s no secret that Valve has been working on CS2 for a long while now. Valve usually lists it’s additions in small updates online, but nowhere has Valve talked about the fact that CS2 now has Bomb inspection animation, which begs the question. Will the Bomb be skinnable eventually?

Skins? That got your attention, didn’t it? Skins are going to be even better when CS2 releases.

the Bomb in CS2 has an inspection animation

On August 3rd, 2023, a Clip was captured of ArrowCS’s game where he was seen inspecting the Bomb. However, there’s something off about these Bomb inspection animations.

CS2 bomb inspection animations

In one 44-second clip, ArrowCS can be seen spinning and tossing the Bomb like it’s a pizza base, with no regard for the T’s safety. All jokes aside, this is potentially huge news for the skinners of the world.

Does this mean the Bomb will be skinnable in CS2?

On the one hand, our main argument is that the developers, Valve, wouldn’t devote manpower to adding pointless features to the game – Then I remembered that chickens turn into roast chickens when you Molly them. This is hilarious but pointless from a gameplay perspective.

Inspect Animations probably require a little more care, time, and polish, however. So why add the opportunity to inspect something if you’re noting to add the ability to skin it?

Skins were added in the Arms Deal update to CS:GO along with the Inspect animation, this suggests that the two things are synonymous with one another, further giving us hope that the Bomb will be skinnable in the future.

Skins also help boost the CS economy and help keep more players interested in the game and market because they have a monetary stake in it. Great news for Valve, it’s a no-brainer, really.

Bomb Skin selection will have to be a relatively strict process, as it would be unfair to give players a disadvantage with a hard-to-see Bomb skin. Or worse yet, a Skin that is hard to see for colorblind people or otherwise visually impaired. That’s just something to think about, as this is all just guesswork at present.

Skins are fun, and we like skins, However, only time will tell whether the Bomb will be Skinnable in the future.
