Paradox Interactive’s grand strategy epic, Europa Universalis 4, is free on the Epic Games store. If you want the game in your PC library (and if you don’t there is something wrong with you) you need to claim it by 4pm on October 7, when the next free game will become available.
EU4 was first released back in 2013, six years after the third game in the series (which came six years after the second). Could Paradox be setting the latest in the series free to get people excited for the imminent announcement of Europa Universalis V? Or is the reason that they just need to shift some more DLC? Perhaps both?

It looks and plays like a Civ-style turn-based game but EU4 is probably one of the biggest real-time strategy games you can buy (or get for free). In it you take command of one of Europe’s renaissance-era powers, with a view to guiding it through the centuries to the dawn of the Industrial Revolution.
