The Fortnite Live Events are always an exciting feature for players. However, the last Fortnite Live Event, The Fracture, occurred on December 3, 2022. As a result, many Fortnite players believed Epic Games would no longer be hosting these events. Although it was disappointing for some players, many are excited at the news of a new Live event.
During the Unreal Fest 2023, the Epic Games Cinematic Design Director held a presentation, and one of these topics centered on Live Events. Epic Games is bringing back Fortnite live events
Fortnite Live Events will occur during a match, which will connect to Fortnite’s storyline. As a result, thanks to well-known Fortnite leakers, Epic Games has announced they will release a new live event, which is set to occur at the end of Chapter 4. Epic Games has not confirmed this event on their official blog or X (formerly Twitter) account.
However, at the Unreal Fest ’23, the Cinematic Design Director, Grayson Edge, confirmed that Live Events would return. This event has the codename of Durian and is likely to be released in a few months. During this event, Edge said they are “currently working on some of the events that we do for Fortnite.”
Edge also mentioned two types of live events in Fortnite. The first is Narrative, which is your Galactus Event; a narrative story is told in this event. The second type of event is Cinematic, which is the concert event. Unfortunately, no release date for these events has been made or confirmed.
However, Fortnite Season 5 is still on its way, so we’ll have to wait a bit before the next Chapter is released. The next Chapter will likely be released in late November or early December.
