Shield Breaker is an upcoming Fortnite item that will come out soon. The item was shown in the Season 4 trailer and in promotional materials, yet it hasn’t been released. However, this will change soon as the item is set to arrive with the v26.10 update, the first major update of the new season.
Epic Games has added a lot of new content with Season 4. In addition to the new items that have come out, the development team has prepared many others that will be released throughout the season.
Fortnite leakers have found out some interesting details regarding the Shield Breaker grenade, and here’s everything you need to know about it.
Shield Breaker is Fortnite’s version of the EMP grenade
Shield Breaker is one of a few items that were leaked ahead of Season 4’s release. At first, many players believed that it would be used to disable the player’s shield. However, this is not the case. Instead of damaging players, Shield Breaker will be used primarily against equipment.
The video below shows what exactly the new Fortnite item will look like. The release date is set for Tuesday, September 5. Considering that Epic Games releases most updates on Tuesdays, this will likely be the date of the v26.10 update.
As you can see in the video, Shield Breaker is very effective against both cars and Business Turrets. Here are all the other items that the upcoming grenade can disable:
- Laser grids
- Defense turrets
- Cameras
- Vending machines
- Hot Spot drones
- Shield Bubbles
At the moment, Shield Bubbles are not in the game. However, there’s a chance that Epic Games intends to unvault them during the season. It will also be interesting to see if the Shield Bubble can permanently disable vending machines.
Several other items will be released throughout the season, including the Sticky Grenade Launcher.
