The new Shield Keg has arrived in-game in the first Fortnite Hotfix of 2022. So just how does this brand-new healing item work?
We saw the Shield Keg way back in the Chapter 3, Season 1 trailer, and Loopers instantly wanted to know when this interesting new item would be added to Fortnite gameplay. Well, with hotfix v19.01 it is finally here, and now we know exactly how this new Shield item works and where it can be found through our Fortnite Shield Keg guide.
What is the new Fortnite Shield Keg?
Fortnite’s Shield Keg, as we expected from the original trailer, restores your own Shields, as well as those of your squadmates. Simply throw the keg down near your entire team, and anyone in range of its spray will see their Shields gradually restore from 0 to 100. When we say anyone in range, though, we mean anyone – even enemy squads. As such, it’s advisable to do your best to place the Keg either with no one around as you get out of a battle, or if you really need it mid-fight, try and keep those opponents away.
Tip: Use the Shield Keg alongside the brand-new Med-Mist Spray for a fast and easy way to fully heal yourself and those around you in no time.
Where are the Fortnite Shield Keg locations?
The Fortnite Shield Keg locations should actually be pretty easy to come across, as the item can be found in Chests, as floor loot and from Supply Drops, as well as from NPCs Lt. John Llama and The Scientist. The Scientist can be located in The Sanctuary, while Lt. John Llama spawns to the south-west of Logjam Lumberyard.
