Epic Games has released many different Fortnite skins over the past five and a half years. From human characters to robots and aliens, the video game developer has created various skins for different types of players. Unfortunately, the newest skin has caused a lot of backlash from the community.

Opal is a new Fortnite skin that was released on July 11. She costs only 800 V-Bucks, making her one of the cheapest skins in the Item Shop. However, the cosmetic item has become quite controversial due to its design.

This is not the first time that Fortnite players have complained about a skin, but they may have gone too far.

New Fortnite skin looks different

Opal is a plus-size character, which is why she’s received a lot of hate. Similar to Penny, the Fortnite skin has a different design and looks different. However, it’s important to note that this doesn’t put players at a disadvantage. Each skin has the same hitbox, whether it’s a human being or a banana.

The newest skin has become controversial simply because of its size. It appears that many Fortnite players want slimmer characters, despite having hundreds of those in the video game already. To make things worse, Opal isn’t even a traditional plus-size character.

Considering that Opal costs only 800 V-Bucks, she’s definitely one of the best Fortnite skins that can be obtained in this price range. Unfortunately, the newest character has gained too much attention for the wrong reasons.

The skin was released during the Summer Escape event, which means that she could become quite rare. Epic Games usually releases summer skins every year, so there’s a chance that Opal won’t return for a year once she leaves the Item Shop.

Opal can also be purchased through the Ruby & Opal Bundle. The bundle costs 2,000 V-Bucks and also includes Ruby, another popular Fortnite character. Besides the two skins, the bundle contains four other cosmetic items.
