The next Fortnite update will likely come out on Tuesday, September 12. This will be the first major update of Chapter 4 – Season 4. Epic Games has already released an update in the season, but this was a smaller update that didn’t add a lot of new content.

The next one, however, will be much bigger. Considering it’s a major update, we expect many new cosmetic items, gameplay changes, new items, and possibly a new collaboration. On top of that, Epic Games may release some new data regarding the upcoming Fortnitemares event.

This article will list the early Fortnite patch notes. Some of these additions have been confirmed by the video game developer, while some of them have been leaked.

Fortnite early patch notes for September 12

Epic Games hasn’t revealed the exact release time of the next Fortnite update. However, considering that most updates come out around 4 AM Eastern Time, we expect the next one to follow suit.

Gameplay changes

Shortly after Chapter 4 – Season 4 came out, Fortnite leakers revealed a couple of new Reality Augments that would come to the video game. A couple of these have already come with the content update on September 6, but the others will arrive later in the season.

Considering that the Fortnitemares event will be released in a couple of weeks, Epic Games is unlikely to release Halloween-exclusive perks. Due to this, here’s what Reality Augments may arrive with the v26.10 update:

  • Revamped Siphon – Heals for every shot)
  • Ninja Training – Increased movement speed while crouching)
  • Farm Fresh – Farm items grant extra healing)
  • Marksman Crit – Increased headshot damage with DMR

In addition to this, Epic may unvault a new DMR and Pizza Party. Both of these items were seen in the trailer for the new season and may arrive on Tuesday.

Furthermore, Epic Games is reportedly working on a couple of new Fortnite collaborations. Due to this, it won’t be surprising if we get one of these collabs with the upcoming event. However, nothing has been confirmed by Epic yet.

Finally, major updates usually bring map changes, which is why we expect a couple of minor ones to arrive on Tuesday.

Cosmetic items

The next Fortnite update will likely include Super Styles for Battle Pass skins. Epic Games has used the first major update of every season to release these new styles, which is why expect the v26.10 update to be the same.

The current Battle Pass has many fantastic skins, and many players will look forward to unlocking their extra styles. In addition to this, the update may also release extra items for Ahsoka Tano, a bonus skin in this season’s Battle Pass.

The update will also add several other cosmetic items that will be released to the Item Shop later in the season.

Bug fixes

Epic Games keeps track of Fortnite issues on its Trello board. Thanks to this, we know what bugs will be fixed in the upcoming update, which is why we’ll include them in the early Fortnite patch notes.

According to the board, here are the bug fixes that will come out with the next update:

  • Auto-run while alt-tabbing
  • Vault case not allowing players to pick weapons
  • Progression quest for spending bars
  • Survivor Medal bonus goals
  • Heist music playing throughout an entire match
  • Beautiful Bow emoticon missing
  • Gyro controls having X and Y axis reversed (Android)
  • Water not rendering
  • Weak spots not appearing
