The official Genshin Impact Twitter and Instagram accounts have finally announced two upcoming playable characters: Shenhe and Yun Jin. Both characters had been leaked several months ago, and now players finally have confirmation that they are not only playable, but also that they’re coming soon. While it hasn’t officially been stated when, players can likely expect to see them in version 2.4. So with version 2.3 just around the corner, players shouldn’t have to wait too long for these characters to be released!

Shenhe Genshin Impact Revealed

Shenhe, who first cropped up in leaks a while ago and even featured in an in-game cutscene, is officially coming to Genshin Impact. She’s a Cryo Polearm character, similarly to Rosaria, so it will be interesting to see how her playstyle differs from Rosaria’s. Perhaps she will be more of a support character than a DPS, although it’s difficult to speculate at the moment given how little information we have on her. The weapon she wields in her official artwork is not currently in the game, nor has it been featured in datamines, so hopefully this brand-new Polearm will be revealed soon.

It’s been rumored she’s a 5-star character, although this is yet to be confirmed.

Yun Jin Shenhe Genshin Impact Revealed

Like Shenhe, Yun Jin has featured in several leaks and an in-game cutscene. She was first leaked to have an Anemo Vision, but this was later changed to a Geo Vision in more recent leaks. She has now been confirmed as a Geo Polearm user, similar to Zhongli. While her moveset is still a mystery, it would be nice to see her focus less on shields and more on offence – although given the track history of Geo characters, this seems unlikely. In her official artwork she wields Dragon’s Bane, a 4-star Polearm that increases Elemental Mastery and deals increased DMG against enemies affected by Hydro or Pyro – a strange choice for a Geo character. Either this Polearm was chosen purely for aesthetics, or perhaps Yun Jin benefits from high Elemental Mastery.

It’s rumored she’s a 4-star character, but similarly to Shenhe this has not been officially announced.

Because both characters hail from Liyue, players can likely expect to be returning to Liyue in version 2.4. Will players will finally get to explore The Chasm? Only time will tell!
