The new region in Genshin Impact, Fontaine, has an underwater creature that will follow you. Aside from the bountiful quests, commissions, and adorable animals, there is one that may steal your heart.

If you enjoy traversing under the waters of Fontaine, ensure you complete unlocking chests or rescuing a particular sea creature to get them to follow you around. Of course, in Genshin Impact, all hard work will provide you with a reward. So, which creature will this be?

Which underwater creature will follow you in Genshin Impact?

As the new update arrived in Genshin Impact, so have plenty of cute and cuddly underwater creatures that may or may not attack you. Many Genshin Impact fans enjoying the underwater exploration have noticed once you rescue the Leisurely Otter, they will follow you, much to the delight of fans. As mentioned in a Reddit Post, one player recruited an army of Otters and had them follow their character around.

Of course, there’s more than one way to get aquatic sea creatures to follow you. One way is the use of Blubberbeast’s sonar abilities. Once you absorb their powers, you can use it to make other underwater sea life follow you! However, the Otter will follow you automatically. Because of this, one Reddit user also mentioned they were glad Genshin did not include an “Air Meter” because “It feels so nice and serene to explore underwater without the threat of suffocation.”

However, although gaining your own Otter as a pet is fun, it will only work for a small amount of time. One Reddit user also asked if it is possible to “catch them.” Unfortunately, the answer is no. However, you can receive a reward if you free all eleven Otters and gather them around!

Of course, since the inclusion of these animals, many Twitter users have taken to posting their adventures with these Otters. And, as mentioned before, some have chosen to gather them around and watch them play. One Twitter user also went as far as to call these sea creatures “my otter friend.”
