Genshin Impact, like many other live service games, has plenty of scams you will need to watch out for. As Genshin Impact has various microtransactions, some players’ accounts could add up to thousands as they have invested in the game. Unfortunately, this will also lead scammers to try and take control of these accounts.

Of course, there are many ways to keep your account safe: not accepting co-ops by strangers or not giving out your password. However, it is also essential for new and older players to know what kinds of scams are making their rounds. This can quickly assist a new player unfamiliar with the game or alert a player eager to obtain certain rewards.

Which scam do you need to watch out for in Genshin Impact?

There are various ways malicious players will try and take your account. From hacking into one’s account to offering a free Battle Pass, there are many ways to lose your account in Co-op. Unfortunately, as one Redditor recently posted, two scammers offer a free Battle Pass. However, they will need access to your account. Once they gain access, you will lose your account. For someone to offer a free Battle Pass, they will need access to your account and purchase the Battle Pass. After they obtain your account, it’s possible it could be sold off for profit.

Obtaining Battle Pass rewards can be incredibly tempting; however, it is relatively easy to get if you are passionate about the game. One Redditor has said, “Don’t fall into their traps, because they can steal the account, and sell it after.” As a result, many community members warn new players not to give their passwords or UID to anyone offering free items.

Of course, one Redditor has said, “oh man… that scam is as old as time itself.” While plenty of players in the community know not to accept this kind of offer, unfortunately, some players are too trusting. As a result, many community members find it hard to believe “someone can fall for such obvious trap.”

Unfortunately, while many players urge newer players with caution, many degrade those who have fallen victim. One Redditor said, “if you fall for a “I’ll get you a free battlepass” scam, you deserve to be scammed,” while another said, “I’m sorry but whoever falls for these scams are bringing it on to themselves by being so gullible.”

There are various ways these scammers will try and get into your head. However, thanks to the community members who alert others, new players are aware of the scams and are prevented from falling for them.
