Insurgency: Sandstorm dropped update 1.12 for PlayStation today with a host of new content. The update launched on PC last week but the new content is now live on Sony’s platform. Operation Glasshouse is a free update featuring a new map, co-op content, and more. Here is everything you need to know about Insurgency’s 1.12 patch.

Prison is the Latest Map in Insurgency: Sandstorm

The new Prison map is a penitentiary under attack. Breakout of Mabarak Prison as the Insurgents, or lock it down as Security in this new free close-quarters combat map. Prison was a winning entry in the recent community map content where players voted for the new map to the added to the game. Prison features co-op content as well as PVP. You can try out the new map in Firefight, Ambush, DOmination, Push Insurgents, and Push Security.

Captive and Detainer Cosmetics Added to the Game

The Insurgent Forces have assaulted and breached the oppressive Mabarak Prison at multiple points of entry, allowing the Captive to use the ensuing chaos to mount their escape. To truly get into character, you can use the new Captive and Detainer cosmetics added to the game for free. 

The Captive cosmetics are currently available for purchase which is a bug and you can obtain the skins completely free. If you accidentally purchased the Captive skin, a refund will be available and you will not lose access to the skins.

New DLC Cosmetics Featuring S.O.R.T Gear

New DLC cosmetics are available for purchase. They are included in the Year 2 pass for those of you who have it standalone or via the Gold Edition. These cosmetic items can be combined with others in-game. There are multiple sets available for purchase and you can grab them if you want to support the devs. The game just added spawn protection which provides players with invulnerability after they respawn. This is meant to protect against spawn-camping in modes like Push and quick-respawn game modes like Domination. There are also some game mode improvements and other fixes.
