A new entry to the Legion range approaches – below we have all the latest inch Lenovo Legion 9i release date, specs, and price rumors and info, though bear in mind that currently there is no confirmed release date or price data, but we can make an educated guess on these. Specification details have however been leaked from an unveiling at a Lenovo event in China, and you can read these below.

In contrast to previous generations of the product, the Lenovo Legion 7/7i this year has had some of it’s more premium details and features removed or downgraded to make it more affordable, whilst still retaining the high-powered CPU, GPU, and quality display. We’ll be interested to see then whether Lenovo chooses to reintroduce these on the Lenovo Legion 9i to mark it out as a truly premium product. We’ll be updating this page with more info as it’s released on this RTX 4090 gaming laptop.

Lenovo Legion 9i release date release date window: our prediction

According to Pradeep of MSPoweruser, we’ll be seeing the unveiling of the Legion 9i outside of China at the IFA 2023 conference, which is scheduled for the 1st of September, 2023.

As for when it will actually hit the shelves, reviewers have been informed of the Lenovo Legion 9i release date, but are sworn to secrecy. Given that it’s in production (according to VideoCardz anyway) we can expect to see it come out at some point in Q4, 2023, though take this with a pinch of salt given that nothing has been confirmed yet by Lenovo.

Via information gleaned from Reddit and MSPowerUser, VideoCardz has reported the following specs were unveiled at the event. Besides the below specifications, the most interesting feature of the Legion 9i is that it will apparently come with the ‘thinnest water cooling in the industry’ – squeezing a water-cooling solution into the 18.9mm thick chassis, which sounds quite impressive indeed. This information was apparently from some of the other slides in the presentation, according to Tomshardware, which also expanded on the fact that there will also be a three fan-cooling system, and that the liquid cooling will only kick in above 84 degrees Celsius.

The Legion 9i will also apparently come with the Lenovo AI Engine+ that will optimize the laptop’s performance according to user preferences.

Lenovo Legion 9i release date price prediction

There’s been no confirmed info on the Lenovo Legion 9i price, but we can make a decent stab at a guess based upon the pricing of the next highest entry in the Legion series: the Legion Pro 7i Gen 8.

If you spec out the 16-inch Pro 7i with an RTX 4090, 32GB of DDR5 RAM, and 2TB of storage then it has an MSRP of $3,599.99, though this is frequently reduced on the Lenovo Store.

Given that the Legion 9i has a slightly superior processor in the form of the i9-13980HX (vs the i9-13900HX in the 7i), a 3.2K Mini-LED display (vs the 1600p 240Hz IPS one in the 7i), double the RAM and the aforementioned liquid cooling, we’d expect it to cost around $3,999 or more, though we’ll have to wait and see whether this proves true.
