Sometimes it can be really tough to decide between which hot new games you want to play. Right now, some people might be tempted to dip into the extremely well-received remake of the classic Tony Hawk skating games, as Tony Hawk’s Pro Skater 1 + 2 is a combined remake of the first two games in the classic arcadey staking games. Or perhaps you’re also considering the latest entry in Paradox’s historical grand strategy series, Crusaders Kings III.

But what if there was a way to do both? Some way to play Crusaders Kings III, whilst still getting your fill of boarding fun? Believe it or not, there’s a mod that combines these two concepts into one game.

Tony Hawk’s Pro Crusaders 1 + 2 is a mod for Crusader Kings III that modder Petter V has created specifically because his friend Gary (no relation to Gary from Gary’s Mod) couldn’t decide between buying Tony Hawk or Crusader Kings.

The mod is available to install from Steam workshop, and here are the included features:

  • New leveled lifestyle trait: Skater — Go skating at the skatepark to level up!
  • A new decision to start skating
  • A decision to hit the skatepark for some stress loss
  • About two dozen new skating events
  • Genghis Khan spawns as a Skate Legend
  • Genghis will never attack a fellow Skater

This isn’t perhaps the most serious mod, with its cheek somewhat in its cheek, but it has at least fully committed to the premise, and its creator has put a lot of thought into how to integrate the idea of skating directly into Crusader Kings III.

The Crusader Kings series has a rich history of mod support, and seeing creativity like this makes it seem like a smart move on behalf of Paradox.
