*Update* Motorola US officially announced the Moto G 5G and Moto G Stylus on May 2nd. As for the release date, there was no official word, but the Motorola website is listing the Moto G Stylus 2023 as for sale already. Note that this isn’t the 5G version of the phone, so we’ll have to see if there’s any further announcements regarding that.

Motorola is preparing to launch the Moto G Stylus 5G with a refreshed design for 2023, not to be confused with the Moto G Stylus 2023, its global and 4G alternative. The Moto G Stylus 5G 2023 was first noticed a while back, thanks to OnLeaks. Evan Blass has also shared the promotional photo of the upcoming 5G Motorola device in two color variants. OnLeaks has also confirmed the colors with its CAD-based renders.

All these significant leaks and, according to recent reports, both the Moto G Stylus 5G and Moto G5 5G have appeared on the SIG website, which confirms Motorola is getting ready to launch these devices. So, here’s what we know.

We’ve put together some of the key specs for the Moto G 5G for now, since it’s officially been announced. The full list of specs is yet to be confirmed though, but this is what we think so far.

A recent listing for the Moto G Stylus 5G 2023 and Moto G5 5G 2023 has been cited on the Bluetooth SIG website, which indicates both devices will receive Bluetooth 5.1 support.

• The Moto G5 5G (2023) also has three certified models: XT2313-6, XT2313-3, and XT2313-4

The Motorola Moto G Stylus series has been around for a while. In terms of hardware and capability, they are not of the flagship quality like the Samsung Galaxy Ultra. The only comparable feature is the built-in stylus for note-taking. However, the series definitely has its fans.

A new 3D render (see below) has been making its way on the internet, courtesy of OnLeaks, which shows the company is not making any significant changes to the known design of the smartphone. The device has a punch-hole design and the usual Moto G design. The built-in stylus is still coming, and a 3.5mm audio port is also available. The charging port is USB Type-C and, the smartphone will reportedly feature up to 6 GB RAM and up to 256 GB storage. 

The Moto G Stylus 5G 2023 render features a thinner bezel with a 50 MP selfie camera. The render also points to an aperture of f/1.8 to f/1.9. So, Motorola likely switched to a new 50 MP sensor. 

The renders also come with the text ‘2.0 µm’ and ‘ULTRA PIXEL.’ This suggests the company will introduce a new pixel binning feature to improve the quality of the image. Motorola has removed the useless 2 MP depth camera, so the new 2023 edition will feature a dual-camera array on its back. However, there’s no concrete news regarding the Moto G 5G 2023.

Motorola is also ambiguous about the price of these upcoming 2023 smartphones. However, the 2022 Moto G Stylus 5G was launched with a $499.99 price tag. So, expect the same price or slightly higher.
