The Motorola Moto X40 release date (for the Chinese branded version) and the Motorola Edge 40 release date (for the international version) have both come to pass. Read below for all the details, plus the Motorola Edge 40 specs and Motorola Edge 40 price.

Motorola finally launched the long-awaited and teased Moto X40 in China. A few days back, the company officially announced the launch event on 15 December via a Weibo post. On the day of the event, the company revealed the Motorola Moto X40 which is the company’s flagship device. 

The device went on sale in China on 22th December and arrived on international markets on 4th April 2023.

Motorola Moto X40 release date (China) 

On 15th December 2022, Motorola officially revealed the Moto X40 smartphone. The actual Moto X40 release date for the Chinese markets, i.e. when it will go on sale, is the 22nd December, 2022.

Motorola Edge 40 release date (Global) 

The Motorola Edge 40 and Motorola Edge 40 Pro both released in the UK on the 4th April 2023.

Motorola’s Moto X series flagship is fairly new. It is also marketed as the Moto Edge series globally; at least, what happened with the last year’s Moto Edge X30. The company initially launched the device in China and then it reached global markets a few months later, under the name: Moto Edge 30. 

Motorola followed a similar practise this year, with the launch of the Motorola Edge X40 in April 2023.

There’s no need to speculate about the Motorola Moto X40, as the smartphone has already been announced in China. The new Motorola smartphone is all set to go up for sale in a few days in the country. 

A global is sure to follow in about a few months and may carry the moniker “Edge” for the global markets, whilst possibly losing the ‘X’ from the name.
