Call of Duty has been a fan favorite for many, many years, however, it’s hard to ignore the dip in quality over the years. Now, with the acquisition of Activision by Microsoft, that’s about to change, and it seems like it has started with the old Call of Duty games as the Old Call of Duty’s multiplayer is fixed on Xbox.

Old Call of Duty games get multiplayer servers rebooted for online play

According to a video by TheGamingRevolution on YouTube, we can see evidence that the old Call of Duty games have indeed started to receive players once again. This event seems to follow Microsoft’s acquisition of Activision, as the server reboot happened shortly after. It just goes to show how dedicated Microsoft is to bringing excellent service through all of its games to the fans.

Microsoft hasn’t officially taken over Activision just yet, but it was likely heavily involved with rebooting the game servers, so far, all of the Call of Duty Xbox 360-era games that have multiplayer are working on Xbox, as far as we know. But if we’re missing something, please do let us know.

This brings us high hopes that these games will make it onto Game Pass at some point soon.

Is Call of Duty is coming to Xbox Game Pass?

It’s hard to imagine Microsoft acquiring Activision and not putting at least some of the Call of Duty games on Game Pass. With that being said we don’t know exactly when that will occur.

Microsoft will want to get as many games as possible on Game Pass as soon as it can, since the deal with Activision is still yet to close, we can probably expect Call of Duty games to appear on Game Pass at the end of July through to the middle of August if all goes well.

This is because the deal needs to be finalized and Microsoft actually needs to own the right to put Call of Duty on Game Pass before they do so.

What Call of Duty games will be on Game Pass?

It’s hard to say right now, this is all just speculation but we can probably hazard a good guess as to what games we may see put on Game Pass in the coming months.

The Call of Duty games we will likely see on Xbox Game Pass are ones that have been released for the Xbox 360, such as MW2 (original) and BO2, it is unlikely that we will see a brand new Call of Duty game hit Game Pass on day one until 2025, as Sony has a deal with Call of Duty that lasts until the end of 2024.

With that being said, we’re sure Microsoft will get whatever it can onto Game Pass as fast as possible. We look forward to returning to Call of Duty’s roots and we hope to see some of you there!
