Overwatch 2’s PVP Beta is off to a good start and players complaining about how weak supports felt have a lot to look forward to in today’s Overwatch 2 PVP Beta patch. Blizzard buffed four healers and completely changed how Roadhog’s ultimate works to make him feel a lot more fluid. Roadhog’s ult cannot be interrupted and he can use his abilities or stop firing his scrap gun if he chooses to. Here’s a quick breakdown of everything that changed in today’s massive update in the Overwatch 2 PVP Beta.

Roadhog’s Ult is Now ‘Transformational’

Roadhog’s Whole Hog ultimate ability is no longer considered “channeled” like Reaper, Pharah, or Cassidy. Instead, Whole Hog is now a Transform ultimate like Genji and Winston’s ultimate abilities. The weapon no longer automatically fires, and you must press Primary Fire to use the ultimate and you can use normal abilities during Whole Hog without canceling the ultimate. Stuns will no longer cancel the ultimate which is a massive buff as it was too easy to interrupt him.

Soldier: 76 Hit With Heavy Nerfs

Soldier 76 was over-tuned during the first week of the PvP beta which is resolved with Overwatch 2 PVP Beta Patch. He was extremely mobile with the new damage passive that increased movement speed by 10%. Blizzard brought his Sprint ability down a bit with the new passive in mind.

Soldier 76 has always been a high damage output hero, but the lack of a tank in Overwatch 2 made him feel a lot stronger. Blizzard also tweaked Tactical Visor into a more interesting ultimate for players who want to push their aim skills through the ability by adding a headshot multiplier if players accurately aim at players’ heads during the ultimate.

Support Buffs and Other Changes

Heroes like Zenyatta, Ana, Baptiste, and Brigitte also received a number of changes to boose their viability. Zenyatta’s changes are the most interesting as he just received a new passive. He was at a disadvantage if an enemy flanked or jumped on top of him. His new passive, Snap Kick, will help him create space and put enemies at his fighting range.
