Minecraft is rated E10+ for everyone over 10. So it’s not something you’d expect to play host to the things of nightmares. Modders have been creating scary mods for Minecraft for years now, but this takes the cake. This is possibly the most terrifying Minecraft mod ever made.
Minecraft can be pretty spooky on its own, especially with all the ambient cave noises that have been added over the years, this mod plays very much into those.

YouTuber creates a terrifying Minecraft “Cave Dweller” mod
A YouTuber by the name of Gargin has created a mod that adds a new mob into the otherwise innocent game of Minecraft. Lovingly named the “Cave Dweller”, this new mob shares a resemblance to the already creepy Enderman.
Here is Gargin’s video explaining how the mod was made, and a little snippet of the mod in action.
The Cave Dweller appears only in caves and will stalk you until it decides to attack.
The cave Dweller itself has a new custom behavior tree implemented that controls what the Cave Dweller does when it encounters the player character. The Dweller can either stare at you with its piercing gaze, flee like a scared dog, or pursue you with extreme malice.
What makes this mod so scary is the way the Cave Dweller moves once all of the animations are implemented. If you haven’t watched the video yet, we strongly encourage you to.
The animations make this mob move like no other mob in the game, and it’s not restricted like the others. It can crawl through blocks, or squeeze through 1×2’s. A truly relentless pursuer.
The Cave Dweller mod is truly scary
Nothing is worse than when the Cave Dweller mob decides to appear, and thanks to the very random conditioning implemented by Gargin you never really know when that will be.
A loud sound erupts from the cave, as the blood-curdling screams of the frantic Cave Dweller assault your ears. By the time you get your bearings, it’s already too late. This mod is well worth a shot if you’re a fan of scary.
