The Samsung Galaxy Tab S9 FE pre order date has yet to be confirmed by Samsung, in fact, the company hasn’t officially confirmed the existence of the Fan Edition(s) of the tablet yet at all, however as we’ll discuss below there’s very strong information that these devices do exist and some signs that we’ll be seeing them appear at some point in Q4 2023.

If you’re looking to pre order Galaxy Tab S9 FE models, including the Tab S9 FE+, read below for everything you need to know.

When is the likely Samsung Galaxy Tab S9 FE pre order window?

Simply put, we expect Samsung Galaxy Tab S9 FE pre orders to go live at some point in mid-September to mid-October, though this is purely an educated guess based on all the information below so take it with a hefty helping of salt. Read on for a breakdown of our reasoning.

Galaxy Tab FE pre order date history

Given that the Galaxy Tab Fan Edition only started with the Tab S7 series, and skipped the Tab S8 series completely, there isn’t really a lot of historical data to look at unfortunately. What we can glean from the available data (listed below), is that the previous FE device came out first in the UK, but it was several months before it hit the shelves in the US (the release dates being over two months apart). Additionally, in the UK, the pre-order period was much longer, whereas in the US it only lasted a day.

Unlike with the Tab S7 FE, we think the demand has been established significantly for the Fan Edition tablet that we think it’s likely to launch at the same time or a similar time in the US as in the UK, though this is just based on our own gut feeling, rather than any evidence.

The device was also launched as part of a press release, rather than being tied to a big event, which is probably likely again this time round, given that we’ve already seen two Samsung Unpacked Events this year.

Samsung Galaxy Tab S9 FE release leaks

There have been several leaks pointing to the existence, and likely imminent launch, of the Samsung Galaxy Tab S9 FE. Although it’s now been taken down, the French Samsung site accidentally listed both the Tab S9 FE and Tab S9 FE+ on their website, as reported by leaker/commenter Roland Quant. This is pretty definitive proof that these tablets are coming, short of actual official confirmation.

Additionally, it was spotted by the people at MySmartPrice that the Galaxy Tab S9 FE+ has received certification from the Federal Communications Commission (FCC), which is typically only something that occurs when a product is a few months away. These leaks refer to the device with the model numbers SM-X610 and SM-X616B (we’re not sure what the difference is exactly), and list various specifications and features of the new tablet, which you can see in the gallery below (we discuss these further down in the specs section).

Finally, respected commentator Ross Young stated that he believed the S9 FE production to be two months behind that of the main Galaxy Tab S9 series. Given the other S9 variants were launched in July and actually released on the 11th August, this could point to an early October Galaxy Tab S9 FE release date.

Our Galaxy Tab S9 FE pre order window prediction

Taking all the above into account, we think it’s likely that the Galaxy Tab S9 FE will release at some point in mid-October, 2023 or thereabouts (two months after the main S9 series), with the product potentially launching in September as part of a press release, rather than a full event.

It could be that there’s a very short pre-order period for the S9 FE as there was in the US for the S7 FE, or there could be a longer period between launch and release when you can pre order the device. Either way, we predict the Samsung Galaxy Tab S9 FE pre order date as being some point between mid-September and mid-October, but time will tell if this is correct.

Will there be a Galaxy Tab S9 FE pre order bonus?

There were pre-order bonuses for the other models in the Samsung Galaxy Tab S9 range (both the S9 and S9+ as well as the S9 Ultra), in the form of free storage and RAM upgrades if you bought from the Samsung store. Based on this, one would assume that a pre order bonus for the Galaxy Tab S9 FE and Galaxy Tab S9 FE+ as well, though we’ve heard nothing about it as of yet.

Samsung Galaxy Tab S9 FE spec leaks & rumors

From the earlier FCC info we know that the tablets will come in Wi-Fi and 5G versions, plus that they will have 45W fast charging, S-Pen support, keyboard support, and a dual camera setup – nothing surprising there.

According leaked renders provided by the Wolfoftablet and Mediapeanut the design of the Samsung Galaxy Tab S9 FE appears very similar to that of the main Tab S9 series and will come with the following specs (though we’ll have to wait and see if these prove accurate):

  • Screen: Tab S9 FE: 10.9″ / Tab S9 FE+: 12.4″ (rumored)
  • CPU: Exynos 1380 chipset (rumored)
  • Memory: 8GB RAM (rumored)
  • Dimensions: Tab S9 FE: 254.3 x 165.8 x 6.7mm / Tab S9 FE+: 285.4 x 185.4 x 6.54mm (rumored)

Pre order Galaxy Tab S9 FE FAQs

Will Samsung release another new tablet in 2024?

We strongly expect Samsung to release the Galaxy Tab S9 FE and Galaxy Tab S9 FE+ before the end in 2024.

This follows on from the release of the other entries in the Tab S9 series in August.

What is the price of Samsung Tab S9 FE?

Samsung has not yet officially confirmed the existence of the Galaxy Tab S9 FE, so they obviously have not yet released any pricing information.

That being said, the likes of GSMArena think that something around the $600 price mark could be likely, which would make it cheaper than the $799 base price for the standard Galaxy Tab S9, though still cost more than the Galaxy Tab S7 FE did when it went on sale for $529.
