Samsung has announced a new range of OLED gaming monitors, which now gives us plenty of reason to figure out the latest on the Samsung Odyssey OLED G8 32″ release date. This new 32″ variant of the OLED G8 has grabbed our interest as Samsung has moved away from the previous ultrawide design. We’ll also touch on the possible Samsung Odyssey OLED G8 32″ price, though both of these key details are up in the air at the moment, but we have some strong clues.

CES 2024 was one of the biggest events of the calendar year for tech enthusiasts and it yet again set the stage for some big announcements. Samsung officially revealed it just a week before the event kicked off on January 9th, but there’s more to learn. Head over to our where to buy OLED G8 page if you want to get in early.

Samsung Odyssey OLED G8 32″ release date speculation

Nothing is too clear on the release date just yet for all regions, but we can look back to how previous releases panned out to get an idea of what to expect. The previous OLED G8 was announced at IFA 2022 (in September) and took until Q4 of that year to release, spilling over into Q1 2023 for some regions.

Perhaps the better comparison to draw however is the Odyssey Neo G8, which was unveiled at CES 2022 in January, going on to be launched in June. Likewise, the OLED G9 last year took until June to release, so there is a pattern emerging for how long it takes these new displays to become available to the public.

With all that in mind, we’ll make an OLED G8 release date prediction of Q2 or Q3 2024 for the time being, possibly in June again. One important detail that Samsung has officially disclosed is that the new OLED G8 is expected in July 2024, at least in Hungary (and perhaps wider Europe).

Samsung Odyssey OLED G8 32″ price revealed

Pricing is another thing to think about – these high-end OLEDs don’t come cheap! Considering we even expect the new OLED G6 to cause a dent in the bank account, this larger 4K display will set you back a significant amount. To compare, the 34″ ultrawide OLED G8 set you back $1,499 at launch and the 32″ 4K Neo G8 was the very same price as well.

So, given the history of the pricing for this monitor, we also expect the price to be around the $1500 mark. Again, this is a prediction for the time being, but many signs are pointing towards this kind of price range. And it looks like we’re bang on the money, as one early listing from B&H Photo Video has a price tag of $1,499.99 for the new G80SD.

Is the new Samsung Odyssey OLED G8 worth buying?

Based on everything we know so far about this 4K gaming monitor (be sure to check out the Samsung Odyssey OLED G8 32″ specs for a closer look), this could easily be a display worth buying. Like we said, it’s likely you’ll need to fork out a large amount of cash for this 4K monitor, but we think the quality will be hard to ignore.

We’ve seen a good amount of big-screen OLEDs recently, but those often stray into TV size territory. Anyone in the market for a 4K monitor which is a little more desktop-sized and benefits from stunning OLED visuals for sure has to check this one out.
