What Is The Sea Of Thieves Borderlands Event?

Sea Of Thieves Borderlands Event Ship Making Mayhem

TheSea Of Thieves Borderlands Event aka  Sea Of Thieves Mayhem Event is the next major crossover in Sea Of Thieves since the successful Pirates Of The Caribbean update.

The Sea Of Thieves Mayhem Event is inspired by the chaotic Mayhem mode from Borderlands 3, which players unlock after completing the main game, and which features a variety of suitably crazy challenges to complete.

Doing so will net you a unique ship set design!

Sea Of Thieves Mayhem Event Challenges

There are two varieties of challenges that you must complete as part of the Sea Of Thieves Mayhem Event, in order to unlock the Sea Of Thieves Mayhem ship as your prize. Each challenge earns Favour with the faction known as the Bilge Rats, who grant you parts of the ship set, piece by piece.

Sea Of Thieves Minor Mayhem Challenges

As the name would indicate, these are brief little challenges that can range from “blasting a shark with a Gunpowder Barrel” to “torching skeletons with a Firebomb”.

Sea Of Thieves Major Mayhem Challenges

These chunkier challenges include more difficult, time-consuming tasks like “looting all the gold piles in a Treasure Vault” or “tearing through a Tall Tale”.

Sea Of Thieves Borderlands Ship - Inspired By The Vaults Of Pandora

The garish yellow and red design of the ship (somewhat reminiscent of McDonald’s logo) takes most of its design cues from The Vault, which is a hidden cache of alien technology on Pandora – the planet which serves as the setting of the Borderlands series.

The figurehead strapped to the stern of the ship is none other than Claptrap – the noisy miniature robot character from Borderlands – except this time dressed up in pirate guard and brandishing his own wee cutlass.
