We all knew that the Steam Autumn sale was just around the corner, but what we didn’t know was the great deals that would be going live this Black Friday. Steam is really pulling out all the stops for this year’s Autumn sale, offering huge discounts on some unexpected AAA titles.

Once known as the Steam Black Friday sale, the Steam Autumn Sale kicked off today, slashing prices on some of this year’s biggest titles. Like always, Steam is marking down big titles this year, allowing keen gamers to grab a massive bargain on a huge list of fantastic games. And with up to 70% off selected titles, boy do they impress.

Steam Autumn Sale is now live

The Steam Autumn sale is one of the best times of year to save a few bucks on your favorite gaming titles. As always, as Steam’s Autumn sale runs side-by-side with Black Friday, you can expect the biggest savings of the year to be right now.

Let’s take a look at some of the great deals that are on offer this time around.

  • Red Dead Redemption 2 – Save 50%
  • Cyberpunk 2077 – Save 50%
  • Control Ultimate Edition – Save 70%

Alongside the above AAA titles, Steam will be slashing prices on hundreds of other games too – many of which will be reduced by up to 90%. There is an entire section on the Steam store that is dedicated to games under $10 and $5 too.

With so many deals up for grabs this year, it’s hard to choose the best of the bunch.

Steam Awards to go live December 1st

Alongside Steam’s Autumn sale going live, the nominations process for the coveted Steam Awards has also renewed today – celebrating the best of the best in a number of different classes:

As the headline says, players can nominate their favorite games throughout December – with winners announced on the 3rd of Jan.

Categories are as follows:

  • VR Game of the Year
  • Labor of Love
  • Better With Friends
  • Outstanding Visual Style
  • Most Innovative Gameplay
  • Best Game You Suck At
  • Best Soundtrack
  • Outstanding Story-Rich Game
  • Sit Back and Relax

By nominating your favorite games this year, you’ll automatically earn yourself an Autumn sale badge – upgradeable in four unique stages. The nominations will open up on the 1st of December with winners being announced on the 3rd of Jan.

Don’t worry, if you don’t manage to get a deal in the Steam Autumn Sale, Steam’s big end-of-year bonanza (Steam’s winter sale) will run from December 22nd to January 5th.
