Calling all Halloween fans, we have some fantastic news to share with you. Are you ready to save on Halloween titles? Steam will be hosting its annual Halloween sale soon, on the 26th of October, and it promises to be packed full of deals on the scariest games for you to take home … If you dare. The Steam Halloween Sale is the best place on the internet to get your scary game fix at the best possible price.
When is the Steam Halloween Sale start date?
According to SteamDB, and our very own When is the next Steam Sale page, the Steam Sale should take place from October 26th and end November 2nd, which gives you a whole week to find the perfect game to scare you silly. Steam usually hosts an Annual Halloween sale and offers fantastic horror game discounts. This is the official Steam announcement for the Halloween sale.
What games will be discounted?
Whilst we don’t know exactly what games will be on sale, we can make an educated guess based on the years prior. As SteamDB points out on its FAQ page:
“Game publishers set the discounts, and they can choose any discount they want. You can look up any game on our site and look at its price history to determine which previous sales the game was discounted in. If a game appeared in all previous major sales, it’s pretty safe to say it will be discounted again.
We do not know what specific games will be discounted in an upcoming sale, what prices will be, or what discounts they will have. Thematic sales are limited to games the sale is about.” – SteamDB
Based on last year’s data we can determine that the Resident Evil games may be making a discounted appearance during the Halloween Sales, as will the Dead Space games.
How big will the discounts be in the Steam Halloween Sale?
Whilst we do not know for sure until the sale actually begins, it is not uncommon to see games discounted up to 90% off their original list price, which is madness when you think about it.
However, such large discounts are primarily reserved for the major seasonal sales, Summer, Autumn, Winter, and Spring. But that’s not to say it doesn’t happen in smaller thematic sales such as the Steam Halloween Sale.
We very much look forward to the Scream Fest that will be taking place this year. We can’t wait to see what sort of scary games get discounted and by how much during the event. Not to mention all the badges and stickers that are up for grabs too!
