Black Friday is usually a time when we get to save a lot of money on all of our big boy tech toys, but it seems that for this CPU in particular, you might be better off waiting until after Black Friday to get the best deal. The 12900KS could be even cheaper in December – Forget Black Friday.

The Intel Core i9-12900KS is the special edition in the 12th-generation line-up, meaning it’s one special CPU. Capable of supporting even the most high-end GPUs, this is a CPU you want in your gaming arsenal in time for Christmas.
We expect the price of the Core i9-12900KS to drop in December
Using a price tracker, such as Camelcamelcamel, we can see that the Core i9-12900KS price dropped in December last year, so we’re hoping that history will repeat itself this year.

As you can see, we have had a large reduction in price for the 12900KS, but we think it’ll get even better. Due to historical events, we observed the i9-12900KS drop in price again after Black Friday 2022, which also took place in November. So we hope the same thing happens this year.
The 12900KS is a special edition CPU, so we do feel that it’ll always be a little more expensive than the standard available in the series. On the flip side, this is also a piece of history, and the 12th generation was the first to introduce the Little Big Core architecture.
We feel the price should fall to around $300, but of course, this is not set in stone, it’s just what we’d like to see. If you can’t wait for the 12900KS to go on sale, you can always snag yourself a CPU deal from Amazon right now.
