Microsoft has just had some of its most sensitive information revealed as part of the FTC vs. Microsoft documents. Among the documents leaked was the concept of a brand new disc-less Xbox Series X, and to be honest, it looks like an April Fool’s joke.

You might be old enough to remember the “Xbox 720” concepts back in the day, although the alleged new Series X may not be quite as outlandish, it certainly gives off an aroma of that impression. The new alleged disc-less Xbox Series X looks like an April Fools joke.

Why is the alleged new Xbox Series X a cylinder?

The alleged new digital Xbox Series X, named the Brooklyn Refresh, is cylindrical. A far cry away from the original rectangular Xbox Series X.

Circles tend to roll, and the new digital Xbox Series X can be seen pictured upright, though it’s easy to tell why you probably won’t be putting it on its side, unless they provide a stand, making the whole thing more silly.

How can it even be named an Xbox if it’s not even a box anymore, the X Cylinder Series X is here. In all seriousness users on Reddit are having an absolute field day with this alleged new Xbox design.

As for performance then, how does it compare to the original Series X?

A quick comparison

We don’t have a lot of information to go off, well, we only have THIS information to go off, so nothing is set in stone, but if everything mentioned in the above image remains true then we might very well have a good console on our hands.

Some of the features that may be included in the alleged new Xbox Series X are:

  • More internal Storage – 2TB
  • A better controller.
  • Wifi 6.
  • Bluetooth 5.2
  • 6nm die shrink for improved efficiency and thermals
  • reduced PSU power by 15%
  • New low-power standby mode, shaving 20% off the Xbox Series S’s standby mode.
  • Recycled plastics.

To be fair, despite the fact that it’ll roll away from you on the slightest tilt, the alleged new Xbox might make for a good console. But it’s ROUND.

All jokes aside, it’s ROUNDD
