What is today’s Wordle answer for March 31?

It’s that time again, your *spoiler alert* before today’s Wordle is revealed. Keep reading if you’re still at a loss for yet another stinker from the New York Times.

Today’s Wordle answer is… LOWLY. To start with, some people been stumped with a choice of multiple LO**Y options, a problem that keeps appearing with these NYT words. But on top of that, today’s word was particularly rough with two of the letter L, one vowel and a W, on top of the word not being as common as some of the others we’ve seen lately. Unsurprising, then, that’s it’s tripped so many people up.

Lowly meaning

Lowly is the first adjective we’ve had in Wordle for a few days, and is used to describe someone or something that is not respected, or deemed to be in a low rank or position. It can be used in quite a few ways, and while meaning remains pretty much the same, it is used in varying degrees of severity. For example, it can be used in a very derogative way towards a person, or simply to describe an item that is plain.
