Unrecord is a game by French studio DRAMA that is taking the industry by storm and garnering a lot of attention, thanks to its stunning photorealistic graphics. So realistic, in fact, that many people refused to believe that unrecording was an open-world experience. many assumed it was a on-rails or pre-rendered scene.
Unrecord release window prediction
On the 20th of April, 2023, an FAQ page was created for Unrecord on Steam. Addressing some questions that the public has asked since the release of Unrecord promotional material back in December 2022. In a section labeled “Release and Timing” it was made clear that there are no plans to release Unrecord this year (2023) but development has been sped up, following the success of the promotional videos for the game.
It is widely speculated, according to Speiltimes that Unrecord will have a release window of 2024 to 2026, not the narrowest of windows we agree. This is because Unrecord is being made by a small, independent studio named DRAMA from France. Although lead developer, Alexandre Spindler, did note that development speed had been increased so as to not lose the momentum that the promotional materials garnered them.
What is Unrecord?
To quote directly from Steam “Unrecord is a tactical shooter where players can expect an immersive and narrative experience. Unrecord features complex dialogues, innovative gameplay mechanics, tough moral dilemmas, and a unique shooting system.
The storyline in Unrecord can be compared to a detective novel or a thriller. The player will have to investigate several criminal cases and confront a diverse cast of characters. The game’s plot and presentation will be central to the gameplay experience, and players can anticipate a range of gameplay sequences as well as numerous plot twists.”
While we wait for an official release date for Unrecord, we hope to see more in-game footage and development news in the coming months. The fact it is unlikely to arrive this year is unfortunate, as this game looks absolutely stunning. It’s possibly one of the best-looking games we have seen in a while and we cannot wait to get our hands on it.
