The biggest news in recent years must be Microsoft’s acquisition of Activision Blizzard. With that out of the way what are all of the IPs that Microsoft gained?

Well first of all most of the franchises are either not releasing anymore or were not as popular. I will try to highlight what are the most notable ones, and which one’s players would love to see return the most.

Every IP gained by Microsoft

  • Blur
  • Caesar
  • Call of Duty
  • Candy Crush
  • Crash Bandicoot
  • Diablo
  • DJ Hero
  • Empire Earth
  • Gabriel Knight
  • Geometry Wars
  • Guitar Hero
  • Gun
  • Hearthstone
  • Heroes of the Storm
  • Hexen
  • Interstate ’76
  • King’s Quest
  • Laura Bow Mysteries
  • The Lost Vikings
  • Overwatch
  • Phantasmagoria
  • Pitfall
  • Police Quest
  • Prototype
  • Quest for Glory
  • Singularity
  • Skylanders
  • Soldier of Fortune
  • Space Quest
  • Spyro the Dragon
  • StarCraft
  • Tenchu
  • TimeShift
  • Tony Hawk’s Pro Skater
  • True Crime
  • Warcraft
  • Zork

Most profitable franchises must be Call of Duty, Diablo and Candy Crush. Apart from that mane people forget about some lesser-known IPs. There are some game series that players would love to see return like Guitar Hero. It was quite certain that Activision Blizzard in the way that it was will not be focused on creating more Guitar Hero games or continuing some smaller franchises.

However, this all can quickly change with the acquisition from Microsoft. Under different eyes some beloved games might be more possible than ever. We might finally get that StarCraft FPS project revived, or we can start dreaming about Prototype 3 or Warcraft 4. There are some games that I stopped believing could ever release, and now it all could become true in a couple of years.
