Ys IX: Monstrum Nox Coming to PC and Consoles in 2021

Falcom’s action RPG, Ys IX: Monstrum Nox will be coming to PlayStation 4, Nintendo Switch and PC in 2021.

Ys IX: Monstrum Nox was first released for PlayStation 4 in September 2019 but only in Japan. So, it’s welcome news to see this popular title finally get a release window for North America and Europe.

NIS America announced this during the New Game+ Expo live stream and even revealed a new trailer.

What Do We Know So Far About Ys IX: Monstrum Nox?

The story begins as renowned adventurer Adol “the Red” Christin and his companion Dogi arrive in the city of Balduq. Once Adol steps inside the city, he is imprisoned and meets a mysterious character called Aprilis. Aprilis turns Adol into a Monstrum, a supernatural being with gifts and the power to exorcise monsters.

Adol must align with other Monstrums to fight against the shadowy dimension known as Grimwald Nox. Each Monstrum has their own unique gifts such as detecting hidden objects or scaling walls and you can play as any of the six Monstrum.

As part of your quest, Adol must explore the city, accept mini-quests from the townsfolk, and use your gifts to outmaneuver enemies.
