However, it’s important to note that while ChatGPT can understand and generate text that is relevant to a given context, it’s not capable of truly comprehending the context in the same way a human would.

The downside

While ChatGPT can understand and generate text that is relevant to a given context, it does not truly comprehend the context in the same way a human would.

For example, as demonstrated in a previous experiment, ChatGPT provided inconsistent answers when asked about the World Cup winner in 1978 and 1986.

This highlights the limitations of the model’s understanding of context and highlights the need for caution when using ChatGPT in conversational contexts.

Although ChatGPT may have limitations in terms of understanding context and maintaining conversation flow, it does have the capability to understand and respond in a relevant manner.

This was demonstrated in an experiment where ChatGPT was asked to teach “British literature” and it provided a well-explained answer.

After the aforementioned experiment, when we entered another prompt “Carry on,” ChatGPT demonstrated an understanding of the context and conversation flow by providing a relevant response shown in the screenshot below.
