Alan Wake fans have been eagerly waiting for the sequel to arrive, and it looks like they will just have to wait a few more months to play it. The game is going to be different from the prequel, as you’ll get to enjoy two different single-player stories this time. So without any further due, let’s discuss everything we know about Alan Wake 2 so far, including its release date.
Alan Wake 2 Release Date
Alan Wake 2 was delayed for ten days and will now release on October 27, 2023. This was confirmed through a tweet from the Alan Wake 2 Twitter page.
The original release date was October 17, so it’s not that big of a change. Its prequel was released more than a decade ago, so it’s about time we’re getting the second part.
Alan Wake 2 Platforms
Users of the previous generation consoles, like the PlayStation 4 and Xbox One, will be disappointed to know that they won’t be able to enjoy the game. This is because the game is next-gen exclusive, so you’ll need to upgrade your console to play it.
Here is a list of platforms developer Remedy Entertainment is releasing Alan Wake 2 on:

- PlayStation 5
- Xbox Series X
- Xbox Series S

Alan Wake 2 Pre-Order Details
If you wish to get some additional content in the game, you can pre-order Alan Wake 2 right now. There are currently two editions available, the Standard Edition and Deluxe Edition. Pre-ordering both editions will give you the base game, an Ornate Revolver Skin for Alan, and a Survival Resources Pack for Saga.
However, the Digital Edition comes with other content as well, which includes:
- Nordic shotgun skin for Saga
- Parliament shotgun skin for Alan
- Crimson windbreaker for Saga
- Celebrity suit for Alan
- Lantern charm for Saga
Aside from this, Digital Edition buyers will also gain access to the expansion pass of the game, which will feature additional story content.
Alan Wake 2 Plot
Alan Wake 2 is set 13 years after the events of the first game, where an FBI agent, Saga Anderson, is sent to Bright Falls to investigate some murders. The sequel will allow you to play as both Alan Wake and Saga Anderson in two different stories. You will get the luxury of playing them in whichever order you prefer.
