Call of Duty is no stranger to having not only bugs and glitches but an overall bumpy road in its community. With online games nowadays, it is being seen more and more games becoming unsafe to be played due to hackers stealing personal information or causing mayhem. Unfortunately, Call of Duty Black Ops Cold War is facing this very thing.

Popular CoD Twitter account CharlieIntel posted on their social platform warning players that Black Ops Cold War is unsafe to play. See the official tweet below.

CoD Black Ops Cold War isn’t safe for anyone

As stated below by Charlie Intel, anyone who plays Black Ops Cold War on any platform is risking the potential hacker getting the player’s IP addresses, which could lead to safety concerns as it holds personal information.

Furthermore, hackers are also crashing the game for players as well. This isn’t limited to just one single mode but is happening across all platforms and modes. Usually, things like that are limited to just PC players but with this, it simply isn’t the case.

There are multiple comments from players stating that hackers controlled the lobbies or games, or took information. One commenter even states a hacker told the commenter his own real name before the hacker banned the commenter from the game.

What causes a bit more alarm is the lack of response from Activision. Activision hasn’t made any sort of statement about the hackers getting players’ personal information like their IP address. While the developers don’t always speak out about problems and issues the game faces, fans are disappointed not to see them active during this upsetting situation.

In a tweet below the first, CharlieIntel goes on to express that Activision’s silence is alarming, especially with the Call of Duty Black Ops Cold War game being sold for $70 on all platforms. Meaning anyone purchasing right now will choose not to play after seeing this news or is risking their IP being exposed to hackers.

It is unknown whether or not Activision will do anything on the matter, and if so, but hopefully, an update will be out soon.
