The long-running FPS series Call of Duty from Activision has a history full of some of the best combat and gameplay in gaming history.

With the release of Season 4 for Call of Duty: Modern Warfare II and Warzone, and the newest Call of Duty title in the works for 2023, Nintendo fans want in on the action. But will they be able to play?

Will Call of Duty come to Nintendo Switch? We’re here to let you know.

Will Call of Duty release on Nintendo Switch?

Yes, the Call of Duty series will be brought over to Nintendo. The head of Xbox, Phil Spencer, has confirmed on Twitter that Microsoft and Nintendo have entered an agreement to bring Call of Duty over to Nintendo consoles, including the Switch.

This was tweeted all the way back in December of last year, so while unfortunately no further information has been given, Nintendo fans can at least rest easy knowing that the Call of Duty franchise is on its way to their favorite console through a binding contract.

No further information includes any type of release date or what titles will be brought over, so gamers will have to keep their eyes peeled for more news regarding the agreement and when Call of Duty will see its official release on Nintendo Switch.

Call of Duty has not been on Nintendo platforms since 2013 when Call of Duty: Ghosts was released on the Wii U. This will mark a ten-year gap between a Nintendo console having a Call of Duty title playable on its system.

Call of Duty has steadily released on the other major consoles, including Xbox and PlayStation, most recently including the Xbox One, Xbox Series X/S, PS4, and PS5. This includes the game’s release on PC, which has also always seen the CoD games present. Nintendo’s gamers can be pleased that following the full merger of Microsoft and Activision Blizzard, they will be able to join the combat and play the Call of Duty games, too.
