Like any crate, the key to this box is hidden somewhere within the streets of L.A. and you need to find it if you want to get it open. Unfortunately, this typically means either searching for a long time or tracking down a specific zombie. Here is how you open the Militar Supply Crate in Dead Island 2.

How to get the Military Supplies Key in Dead Island 2

You may have come across the Military Supply Crate outside the Halperin Hotel. It is on the back of a military truck just after entering the area. There is also a workbench nearby if you need to repair any of your weapons. If you look at this crate, it will tell you that you need the Military Supplies Key to open it. Unfortunately, you won’t be able to get your hands on this key for a while.

To get the Military Supplies Key, you need to track down a specific zombie named Drill Sergeant. He is a hulking zombie that can easily kill you if you aren’t prepared. The Drill Sergeant can easily be picked out of a crowd thanks to his large presence and military attire. You will run into the Drill Sergeant after you defeat the bride zombie in the hotel. He can be found on the path leading back to the beginning of the zone where the military truck is.

Once defeated, the Drill Sergeant will drop the Military Supplies Key. You can use the key to open the Military Supply Crate in the back of the truck. Our reward was a rare Guarding Military Knife though it could vary in different playthroughs.
