As you advance through the game, at one point you will absolutely need to know the answer to the question ‘how to unlock Dead Island 2 maglocks. There are quite a few different types of locks in the game, ranging from keycards to rooms locked behind fuses.
Maglocks are actually one of the tougher locks to unlock in Dead Island 2, they’re more of a puzzle than the other doors in the game. It is also never explicitly explained how to figure these out, but luckily that is where we come in. This is what you need to know to unlock Dead Island 2 maglocks.
How to unlock maglocks in Dead Island 2
The very first maglock you will come across in the game is found at Halperin Hotel, but there are plenty more scattered throughout the game.
When you approach the maglock you will see a door, with thick wires sprouting out of the top, the first one you find will have two but later in the game you will find doors with more. The wires are all different colours and will lead to different locations.
Follow these wires and they will lead you to electrical boxes. If you destroy these electrical boxes (if it is high up either shoot it or throw your weapon) then the maglock will shut down opening the door. Inside of the rooms that are maglock secured is loot, and sometimes even weapons too.
