You’ll find many side quests during your adventures in Diablo IV. When you’re not hunting down demons or exploring crypts and catacombs, you can lend a hand to the many villagers around the world, especially in the city of Kyovashad. As the capital city, the militia here is rather depressed about the demonic incursions. Though, you can cheer them up for experience points. Here’s how to complete the Raising Spirits quest in Diablo IV.

How to Cheer the Training Militia in Diablo 4

To cheer the militia members in Diablo IV, you’ll need to use the Cheer Emote. Once you have the Raising Spirits quest, approach the militia members and open your Action Wheel. You can do this by pressing E on the keyboard or the Up button on the D-Pad on the controller.

Diablo 4: How To Complete Raising Spirits Side Quest

You’ll find the saddened troops near the World Tier Statue in the first major city of the game. Keep in mind that you will need to complete the prologue first before the quest becomes available. Head southeast of the statue until you see an NPC with a blue exclamation point marking a side quest. The NPC in question is Guard Boza and you’ll need to speak with them to begin the mission.

Guard Boza asks you to cheer up the militia members in the town of Kyovashad, as she doesn’t want to come across as weak to them. Accept the quest and a blue circle will appear on your map.

Make your way toward the blue circle directly north of your location. There will be a few militia members standing around waiting to be cheered up. Once you’re close enough, open your emote wheel and choose Cheer. Once you complete your cheering animation, this will complete the quest. Head back to Guard Boza to collect your rewards. She’ll give you a Herb Cache and 440 Gold. While completing the quest will also reward you with 1,596 XP.
