The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom is the latest Zelda game to hit the Nintendo Switch and fans a beyond excited to get their hands on it. Breath of the Wild was one of the most popular of past titles in the Zelda series.

With Tears of the Kingdom being a direct sequel to Breath of the Wild, it would make sense to have some sort of save data carry over. Maybe you get bonus weapons or perhaps your Amiibo bonuses carry over? Do you get bonuses in The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom if you beat Breath of the Wild?

Does Breath of the Wild save data carry over to The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom?

Tears of the Kingdom is the direct sequel of Breath of the Wild which sees Ganondorf return to power. Parts of Hyrule have been blasted into the air to form sky islands and monsters roam the land once more. Of course, not all of your saved data can carry over or Link would be too powerful, but do you at least get a bonus for having all that save data?

With Tears of the kingdom having now been released, here is save data bonus that you can carry over from Breath of the Wild onto Tears of the Kingdom:

Your horses return in Tears of the Kingdom

All the stables you had in Breath of the Wild will return in Tears of the Kingdom, this is essential as it removes the need to acquire a stable back, there’s a few tips to ensure you can your stable back however:

• Ensure the saves are on the same console, this is self explanatory.
• Go to any barn in Tears of the Kingdom
• Ask to remove a horse at the barn
• You will be offered your past mounts
• Once taken, you should get your old stable back.

All bonuses for The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom

The new Zelda title has Link using many new abilities such as Recall and Fuse. He also gets the power of the new item called the Ultrahand. Outside of these abilities, there are various pre-order bonuses that you can get your hands on without the need for save data.

Those who pre-order Tears of the Kingdom from the various retailers will get bonuses that don’t apply to the game. These bonuses include physical items such as:

• Pin Set
• Wooden Plaque
• Art Print
• Luggage Tag
• Tote Bag
• Wall Scroll
• Notebook
• Collector’s Coin

There are additional bonuses if you get the collector’s edition that includes a steelbook case for the physical copy of the game, and an artbook. Retailers such as GameStop, Amazon, Walmart, and Best Buy all have physical bonuses for those who purchase the game early.

Unfortunately, that seems to be all the bonuses you will see in Breath of the Wild. Since the Master Sword appears to be broken in the game, it is most likely that Link will start off at full strength as if you have just beaten Breath of the Wild and lose his power early on.

Throughout the game, you will need to learn how to use Link’s new abilities, discover new weapons and shields, and discover the whereabouts of Princess Zelda so you can finally defeat Ganondorf.
