As you get more involved with player career mode in EA Sports FC 24 (with cover stars Erling Haaland on the front), you will need money. Whether it’s for investing to make more money, buying items to improve your overall, or something else, income is vital to this game mode. That $20,000 weekly wage isn’t going to help you do those things very easily. Here’s how to get a better contract.

How can I make more money in EA Sports FC 24?

As you get better in EA Sports FC 24 player career, you will outplay your contract. Once you get to a certain OVR, you become an absolute bargain for the rate you’re playing for, whether that’s at Real Madrid, Manchester City, Liverpool, or anywhere else. That’s good for the team, but not good for you.

Fortunately, it’s not that difficult to get a wage increase. There is a new player agent option in FC 24. This handles all of your business as a player. Where you want to go next, where they recommend you go next, your wage, and more are all handled here. In previous FIFA games, you’d be able to ask for a new wage at certain overalls. That’s not how it works this time around.

To get a better contract, you need to do certain things your agent says. In-game tasks and overall achievements are vital. These vary per player and team. For example, in our playthrough, we were tasked with the following:

Once our player did these things, we could earn a wage increase to $23,000 a week. After that, the objectives and your potential wage changes. There is a range of your requested wage, which you can change. The higher your chosen salary, the more difficult the objectives are. Disregard the “optional” tasks, because they’re not optional when it comes to getting a new salary. Training sessions are good for earning XP, but none of the tasks can be completed there.

Free agents can sign for higher wages with other teams, but it’s rare for you to become an FA in this mode. It only happens after a contract expiry, which is uncommon.

The position you’re playing doesn’t really affect your wages. You can be a CM, CB, RB, LB, CDM, GK, ST, RW, LB, or anything else and the wages and how you increase them remains the same. Your performance doesn’t affect it, either. You can win Ballon d’Or or Player of the Year and it won’t make a difference.

The alternative is to be transferred. If you want more money and your club isn’t offering it to you until you add five points to your overall rating, you can always go elsewhere. Other squads can certainly offer you more on the transfer market. If you get listed, offers will come in and you’ll be able to decide if the new wage they sent over is worth leaving your current club. Your player agent can and will help on your career path.

The only thing that matters here is your performance, which can also be affected by your personality. The new player personality system is important, too. Pay attention to your player personalities, whether it’s heartbeat, virtuoso, or maverick. Getting points for them can improve your rating.

This only applies to a player career, not a manager career. It’s also not applicable to Ultimate Team, Volta Football, Pro Clubs, or anything else. Fans of the franchise should be sure to pick up a copy of EA FC 24 for PC, Xbox Series X|S, Nintendo Switch, PlayStation 5, Xbox One, or PlayStation 4.
