Playing in the World Cup is among the highest honors the sport of football bestows upon its players, and it’s a really exciting thing to do in EA Sports FC 24. It’s fun to line up as your country’s team and run through the group stages, knockout round, and final, which is a different tournament. Doing so as an individual player in Career mode is different and more challenging to do. Is it still possible?

Can I play in the World Cup in EA Sports FC 24 Career mode?
The World Cup is no longer available in FC 24 in any way, including player career mode. The licensing agreement The World Cup is a tournament that is held every four years. The most recent one was in 2022, when fans got to watch Lionel Messi and Argentina finally lift the trophy. That may inspire them to try and do so in FC 24 (with Erling Haaland on the cover), but that’s no longer possible. It was in FIFA 23, though.
When you’re setting up a player to control in player career mode, you can choose a nationality. You can be from the United States, England, Brazil, Spain, Canada, or anywhere else you choose. You can play with the goalkeepers, strikers, midfielders, or defenders, but that doesn’t really impact your National Team. This is still true.
Once you have a player set up, you’re automatically part of that country’s national team. You will not be a starter, but you are on the roster. Throughout the season, you’ll be called for friendlies and other matches. Use these to get in good standing with the coaches and become a starter.
You can play for any of the pro clubs in Bundesliga, La Liga Santander, the Premier League, Serie A, and any other league. It doesn’t matter for your national team where you play otherwise. You’ll still be called to face every opponent.
Since the last World Cup was in 2022 (or 2023 for the women), it would be four years until the next one. However, since it’s no longer in the game, it won’t matter. Other tournaments can be played in player career, though.
In those other tournaments, you can try to lead them to victory with a keen tactical vision and unique playstyles.
In the meantime, you can upgrade your heartbeat, maverick and virtuoso personality, win Ballon d’Or, kick every ball into the net, and be named player of the season. By the time the World Cup rolls around, you can be really good.
