Many Final Fantasy elements can be seen in Final Fantasy 16, such as the Chocobo. The iconic bird is an important factor that will make traveling much easier through the various realms. Of course, traveling on foot is a great way to pick up any loot and trigger enemies nearby. However, we’re sure some eager fans are ready to blast through the game and head straight for the boss fights. In this guide, we will detail if there are Chocobos in Final Fantasy 16.

Will Chocobos be in Final Fantasy 16?

Like many other Final Fantasy games, Chocobos will be part of the Final Fantasy XVI universe. Since Final Fantasy II, these iconic birds have been in the Square Enix Final Fantasy universe. Unfortunately, we do not know what other role Chocobo will play besides a mount.

Clive Rosfield, the protagonist, will also have his own Chocobo named Ambrosia, a white Chocobo, as seen on the official Final Fantasy 16 Twitter Account. Clive is seen petting his Chocobo in the Final Fantasy demo and prologue footage.

These steeds can be used instead of actual horses in the game, as seen in the Awakening trailer. However, this does not mean you will not find horses. Barnabas Tharmr, Dominant of the EIkon Odin, rides a warhorse during the State of Play trailer. Though, we can also see in many instances that the people of Valisthea prefer the Chocobo over real horses in these trailers.

As a result, franchise fans have been using their skill in various ways. Of course, these birds are a great way to get around, and in Final Fantasy XIV, players can also use them in combat. However, we do not know if the Chocobos in Final Fantasy 16 will have the same combat system. This is because Torgal will now act as our companion in these battles.
